Hi friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and today, I have this fun anniversary card to share with you. It looks like a wooden box filled with these colorful fishing lures. I have to admit my husband does not fish and I have no idea how these lures are used. But they are so cute (especially with these googly eyes!) I had to use them on the anniversary card.

To make a ‘wooden lure box’, I used a pattern paper from Grain & Grunge paper pad. I cut a piece to two A2 sized panel and die cut out a smaller rectangle from one of them to make a frame. The other piece is adhered to an A2 card base and this will be a base of the box. I then backed the frame with a piece of acetate and stamped the sentiments from Hooked On You set and Mini Messages: Everyday set with black Staz On ink. To make the frame thicker, I applied two layers of foam tapes.

I then die cut whole bunch of elements using Lovely Layers: Lures from colored card stocks (and silver card stock for the hooks) and put them all together. These are so super easy to assemble: you can just follow the embossed lines for layering. Since the dies add so much texture I decided not to add any inks or markers. To make these elements look a little dimensional, I added three additional layers on the back.

After adhering all the elements in the box, I added the frame and tied a piece of twine on the top. For the Inside of the card, I die cut a hook and a fish using Lovely Layers: Rod & Reel set and added some ink to the fish. The “I’m hooked on you” sentiment is from Hooked On You set and I stamped it with blue ink. I die cut a heart using Heart Hugs set and adhered it on top.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!!
