Hello, Bee Family! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with another card featuring some of the new products from the Honey Bee Stamps, Summer Stems release. I love to paint abstracts using acrylics on canvas. I do interior design work for others and when I need just the right art for the wall, I head to my studio for some canvas creativity. My paint apron looks about like this one on my card, too! Many little works of art are represented by a smudge or two on my apron. 🙂 I thought this would be a fun way to share love and appreciation for a friend.

I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products for this card:

Color stamp set and coordinating die set

Let’s Get Crafty stamp set and coordinating die set

Apron A2 Card die set

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by die cutting the apron and the “color” word from Neenah Solar White cardstock. I also cut the word’s shadow from black cardstock using the shadow die. Before attaching the word to its shadow using Bee Creative Precision Glue, I colored the letters using Copic markers in the following colors: B26, B02, YR24, YR23, R27, R14, YG03, YG00, Y19, Y15.

I used some of these same colors to add the smudges on the apron pieces. I also added the front pocket to the apron and drew faux black stitches on the pockets. In addition, I gave the apron a more worn appearance by using E40, E41, W2 and W1 around the edges, stitching, etc.

I added the paint brush and paint tube to the apron’s pocket and layered the “color” word die cut over them. I stamped above and below the word die cut to complete the phrase on the front.

For the background, I added 1/4″ strips of white cardstock to black cardstock for a very graphic background. The black and white design offers a nice contrast to the colorful apron. The apron was adhered to the front and then attached to a white card base to complete the card.
