I am so excited to share a new product with you called The Bee’s Knees Embossing Powder Trio. It’s a new set of WOW! Embossing Powders designed exclusively for Honey Bee Stamps by Honey Bee and the WOW! team in a collaborative effort.  The trio is made up of three gorgeous colors that match the Bee’s Knees products. The embossing powder set will be available on Wednesday, June 19 in the store.

To kick off the week, I’ve got a card to share with you today that features this BEE-autiful new trio. All week, you’ll see more inspirational projects featuring this powder set by the design team, too. Lastly, there will be a giveaway on the Honey Bee Instagram page as well as two live videos sharing the new items. Watch for these events this week!

Birthday Wishes Card

My goal was to create a card using only the new “The Bee’s Knees” Embossing Powder for the color on this card. It was very easy to do because this trio combo works so well together. The colors in the set are Bee Sweet (a yellow) , Bee Kind (an aqua) and Bee True (a darker teal).

I used the following Honey Bee Stamps products to create this card:

To make this 6″ X 6″ square card, I started by stamping the large Zen Bouquet and then heat embossed with the Bee True embossing powder on Neenah Solar White Cardstock. I did the same with the two butterflies from Fluttering By. I also heat embossed “birthday” using the Bee Sweet powder on white cardstock. Lastly, I heat embossed the word Wishes using Be True on the lower half and Bee Kind on the upper half of the word. I die cut and glued craft foam in white to the back of the focal point word to make it really stand out. Both words – birthday and wishes – were die and/or cut and layered using colored cardstock behind them.

I wanted to add a little more yellow to the zen bouquet so I used my fine point glue pen to add some glue in the centers and on various accent areas of the flowers. I applied the Bee Sweet powder and heat set each area. I did the same with the butterflies, adding some Bee Kind (lighter aqua color) to the wings and Bee Sweet to the body and antennas for added interest.

I adhered the words and butterflies to the card front background, positioning “wishes” in the center of the bouquet using a two-sided glue tape. I find the tapes work best when adhering onto glitter and/or embossed images. I also wanted a little more yellow on the design so I used some yellow sequins from the Rainbow Deluxe Sequin Set on the front of the card. These sequins are super cute! The yellow combo includes cute flowers and see-through bubbles and more.

To finish the inside of the card, I used phrases from the Fluttering By stamp set. I also edged the bottom with individually stamped zen florals from the Zen Bouquet set to coordinate with the card front. I really like the coordinated look between the outside and inside. That wraps up this card.

Thanks for stopping by on the blog today! Be on the lookout for more ideas and inspiration from the Honey Bee Design Team this week. Don’t forget – you can purchase this pretty powder trio on Wednesday, June 19 at Honey Bee Stamps!
