Hello everyone! Leanne here today. I have a winter themed card to share that features a mixed medium background and the cutest little snow bird.

The background was really fun to make and it all started with Nuvo Shimmer Powders. I used Falling Leaves and Atlantic Burst to get that gorgeous teal color. I simply sprinkled some of the powders onto a panel of Bristol Smooth card stock and then sprayed water until the panel was saturated. I used a paint brush to move the color around to cover the entire panel. I then dried it with a heat gun. I splattered the panel with thinned white paint.

I used the Snowfall background stencil to give the panel an all over snowflake pattern. I first applied a thin coat of Honeydew Embellishment Mousse over the stencil. I left the stencil in place and applied some Moonstone Glimmer Paste right overtop the mousse. After the panel was completely dry, I trimmed it slightly smaller than A2 size and adhered to a white card base.

I added a die cut branch to the background panel with thin 3D foam squares. I Copic colored a bird and stamped out a greeting from the Snow Birds stamp set. I also adhered those with the thin foam squares. I added some die cut snowflakes to the background. To further embellish the scene, I randomly adhered some sequins and tiny clay snowflakes from the Log Cabin sequin mix. I also added some snow detail to the branch with glossy accents and white glitter.

Your background is gorgeous, I’d never think to add glimmer paste over embellishment mousse for double glitz!
Thank you so much! 🙂
