Hello, friends! It’s Channin here with a new card and video to share! In today’s video I create a couple rainbow buffalo plaid backgrounds with Buffalo Plaid Builder Stencils and Buffalo Plaid Stamp Set.

VIDEO: Rainbow Buffalo Plaid: Combining Stencils and Stamps

First, I stamped the Buffalo Plaid onto an A2 panel (4 1/2” x 5 1/2”) of white cardstock in Versamark Ink. I then poured on either white or black embossing powder and then heat set with my heat gun.

Next, I positioned the striped stencil from the Buffalo Plaid Builder Stencil Set horizontally over the panel, making sure the masked lines were positioned over the solid heat embossed squares. I then ink blended the stripes in several distress ink colors (Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Picked Raspberry, Peacock Feathers, Blueprint Sketch).

Once I finished ink blending the stripes, I then cleaned the stencil and then placed the stencil back on the panel but this time with the stripes going vertically and again with the solid masked lines over the solid heat embossed squares. I then ink blended the stripes with distress inks (Squeezed Lemonade, Carved Pumpkin, Candied Apple, Peacock Feathers). When I had finished ink blending, I then removed the stencil and moved onto my sentiment.

To create my sentiment I first die cut four “friend’s” out of white cardstock and one vellum shadow with the Friend Honey Cuts Set. I then adhered two cardstock “friend’s” together twice so I had two stacked sets of “friend’s”. Next, I adhered one set under the vellum shadow and one set on top of the vellum shadow. I then stamped and white heat embossed a sentiment from the Friend Stamp Set onto black cardstock and then I trimmed it down to a strip. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the sentiments onto the card front.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!

I absolutely love this plaid! I honestly never liked plaid before. I love the vibrant multicolor white and color popping black. I swear I’ll use my plaid now.
