Hello, friends! It’s Channin here with a new card and video to share! In today’s video I create a pretty surprise box card with the A2 Surprise Box Card Base Die Set and the Fluttering By Stamp Set. Watch to see how I construct this fun 3D card design as well as add a beautiful floral pattern and even fluttering butterflies!!

VIDEO: Butterfly Surprise Box Card

First, I die cut the surprise box card base out of yellow 110lb cardstock twice to create two base pieces. I then ink blended over the two pieces with Flower Builder Background Stencils. I started with the flower stencil and ink blended with Mustard Seed Distress Ink. Once finished blending the flowers I then positioned the stencil for the flower centers and then ink blended with Spice Marmalade.

Next, I die cut three inserts out of the same yellow 110lb cardstock and then added 1/4” scor-tape to the tabs of all the inserts and base pieces. I then removed the backing on one of the base tabs and adhered the two base pieces together. Next, I adhered all the inserts into the box and then removed the final backing on the last tab and sealed the box together.

I then stamped and copic colored three butterflies from the Fluttering By Stamp Set. Once I finished coloring the butterflies I then stamped a sentiment and then die cut it and all the butterflies out with the matching dies.

Next, I die cut decorative layers for the box flaps out of white and orange cardstock and then adhered then layers to the box. I then die cut extenders to adhered the butterflies and sentiment to the inserts out of acetate. Next, added 1/8” scar-tape to the extenders and then adhered the die cuts to the ends. Lastly, I finished the card by adhering the other end of extenders to the inserts.

I hope you enjoyed today’s card and video! Thank you so much for stopping by!
