Hi friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with another card to share. Do you find you always need sympathy and “thinking of you” cards on hand for short notice events? I certainly do. I love to be able to choose a card and write a note inside to send off quickly to those suffering or hurting. I like to have masculine and feminine looking cards on-hand at all times. My “thinking of you” cross card features products from the Honey Bee Stamp’s Spring Bliss release including:
Quatrefoil Cover Plate top die (Bundle – top and base dies)
Old Rugged Cross stamp and coordinating die set
I love the Old Rugged Cross stamp and die sets because together they make beautifully designed cards for Easter, sympathy and thinking of you cards. It’s a great staple card for those who like to send religious-themed cards.
This card measures 5″ X 7″ and fits inside an A7-sized envelope
To make this card, I used Distressed Oxide inks in softer pastels with the Quatrefoil Stencil to create the rainbow-colored background. I used Speckled Egg, Scattered Straw, Spun Sugar, and Broken China, allowing the colors to overlap in between. I layered the Quatrefoil top die cut over the inked background and attached it to a 5″ X 7″ card base made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock
I stamped the Thinking of you phrase from the Old Rugged Cross stamp set using Versamark ink and heat embossed it using gold embossing powder.
I stamped with Versamark and heat embossed in gold, the cross and floral sprays from the Old Rugged Cross stamp set and die cut them using the coordinating die set. The floral images plus a small white bow were positioned and layered over the cross and glued in place using the Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue. The finished cross was added to the quatrefoil background using Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white to make it stand out a bit.
Here’s the Copic colors I used to color in the florals and cross:
- Florals and leaves: R22, R20, YR30, YR31, YG61, YG63,
- Cross: C5, C3 and a white gel pen
