Hello Bee friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with some “wildly” beautiful flowers for summer. I’ve been having so much fun with the new Summer Stems release by Honey Bee Stamps. The Market Cart Builder dies (also part of the Summer Floral Bundle sold here), Bicycle Builder dies and of course, the Lovely Layers: Coneflower Honey Cuts are a few of my very favorites. Today, I’m sharing two cards that feature the dimensional coneflower along with a few other new products. I am using the following new release items:

Lovely Layers: Coneflower dies

Wildflowers stamp and coordinating die set (I used the stamp set, only)

My Favorite Flower stamp set and coordinating die set ( I used the stamp set, only)

Summer Stems 6″ X 6″ paper pad

My Favorite Flower Greeting

For my first 5″ X 7″ card, I used one of the new pattern papers from the Summer Stems pattern paper pad for the background. Pinks and oranges in the summer are so pretty together! I wanted the background to be a little less perfect so I added brushstrokes of white paint using Dr. Ph. Martin’s Blead Proof white paint. This allowed me to break up the color on the paper and create more of a watercolor strokes look. Next, I heat embossed some floral stems from the Wildflowers stamp set and heat embossed them in white. It’s subtle and wispy which I love. to complete the background, I splattered some of the white paint right over the stems and strokes and set it aside to dry.

For the coneflowers, I die cut the layers out of four different pink cardstock colors. I also used my Copics in coordinating colors to create more dimension on the leaves. You can see that I used a slightly darker pink on each color for more detail. The centers were cut from a golden yellow color and then I added more detailing with a Y26 and Y19 Copic marker as well as a white gel pen. I used Bee Creative Precision Glue to stack the layers to create the flowers.

After I placed my flowers on the background, I realized I needed some stems for these vibrant buds. I used more white paint and a small paintbrush to create simple, imperfect white strokes. Lastly, I stamped in black, the two phrases from the My Favorite Flower stamp set (Note: I stamped the phrases using my Misti tool before adhering the florals to the background.) I love the imperfect textural beauty of this card. The imperfect becomes the perfect here!

Sending My Love Greeting

My second 5″ X 7″ card uses three of the new pattern papers from the Summer Stems 6″ X 6″ paper pad. I used a pink gingham for the bottom, a lace design for the center band and that cute little tag that reads, “Sending my Love” is also cut from one of the papers! For the top half of the background I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed the Wildflower images in gold metallic embossing powder. Next, I splattered on some white paint and added gold metallic spots using my gold metallic pen. I used the same pen to add some stitch detailing on the lace band. Simple vertical, faux-stitch, border lines add just a little bit of glimmer!

For the coneflower, I used the same pinks and gold colors as in the first card and added detailing to the petals and cone. I also added three leaves from the coneflower die set to accent the flower. Everything was adhered together using Bee Creative Precision Glue.

Once the flower was glued in place using more Bee Creative Precision Glue, I tucked the small banner note behind the flower to complete the look. I think the combination of the gingham and the flower makes such a sweet look.
