Summertime has officially started! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with two cards full of lots of blossoms and sparkles to celebrate the “sun season!” Both cards feature some new sets and lots of fun summer bling available at Honey Bee Stamps.

Card 1: A Flower Blooms for its Own Joy

For my first 5″ X 7″ card, I used the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Spring Bouquets die set

Floral Vases

Cottage Window die set

Scallop A7 Card Frame die set

In Full Bloom (for the phrase, only)

On the A7 Scalloped background, I added black thin lines using a fine-tip black marker followed by Copic C3 and C1 shadow lines below each one to mimic exterior siding. The cottage window was backed with vellum for the window pane openings. I hand drew some rather large raindrops on the panes using Copics in blue shades.

I die cut the layering flowers, leaves, and centers out of scraps of watercolor paper and cardstock that I had and arranged them inside the stone garden pot. For the pot, I used a die from the Floral Vases set and die cut it out of a tan cardstock. I added some imperfect / stone-like markings to make the surface look rough and aged. I used my white gel pen and Copics in the warm gray family (Ws) to do this. The garden pot was positioned in the lower left corner, in front of the window.

I added additional shiny “raindrops” to the window and potted flowers using the Newport Navy Confetti Mix. Aren’t these cool? They are like sequins without the hole in the middle which I love. They are a great design because there is a nice flat surface to attach with glue. Lastly, I stamped the phrase, fussy cut it, and attached with dimensional foam squares to finish the card.

Card 2: Make A Wish

My second card also uses the Spring Bouquets die set along with the Wish stamp and die sets on a navy 5″ X 7″ card. This card is a quick one.

The scripty word, “Wish” was die cut from white cardstock and 3mm white craft foam and layered together. A shadow die, cut from yellow cardstock was attached to the back. I heat embossed the phrase “make a” in white on strips of aqua cardstock. The words were adhered to the front of the card.

Next, the die cut blossoms were layered and added to the front. A few extra daisy centers in yellow were added, too. Of course, I had to add some sparkles to this card. 🙂 I used the Dream Sequin Mix (love these), White Vellum Flower Sequins (the daintiest flowers ever) and the Newport Navy Confetti Mix to make the whole card come to life. Stars on this navy backdrop seemed to fit the “wish” theme perfectly. I used the North Star Clay Bits and smaller white dots using my white gel pen to finish this card.

Shining with fresh blooms and sparkly bits, these two cards are ready to brighten someone’s day with a little summer bling!
