Hello friends! Happy new week! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and I have a glittery night scene card for you today. This is an A7 sized card (5” x 7”) with two love birds, palm trees and beautiful sky filled with stars!

Texts in Blue are direct link to the Honey Bee Stamps shop if you need to check them out.

I started off with die cutting a scallop A7 frame from white card stock. I wanted to keep the scallop part white, so I die cut out the rectangle with A7 Double Stitched Frames to use as the inked background panel. I then cut this panel into four parts (sky, ocean, sand with ocean wave, and sand) using scissors. For the sky, I used (from the top) Black Soot, Chipped Sapphire, Blueprint Sketch, and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks. When the inks were dry, I applied Nuvo Glimmer Paste in Moonstone color over the Twinkle, Twinkle background stencil to add glittery stars. After the paste was dry, I added splatters with clean water, and also with white opaque paint. TIP: By adding three different layers of stars creates depth and dimension. The ocean piece was inked with Chipped Sapphire and Blueprint Sketch Distress Inks. To mimic the moon/star light reflected on the ocean, I used one of the stencils from Ocean Scene Builder Background stencil set and added some white pigment ink. The two sand pieces were inked with Antique Linen and Pumice Stone Distress Inks. While the inks were still wet, I added some white puff embossing powder to the edge of the panel on top and heat set. To add sandy texture, I splattered the same two inks I used to ink them. For the bottom sand piece, I white heat embossed the sentiment from the new Tropical Tweets set.

The adorable flamingos are from the new Birds of Paradise stamp set. I colored them with Copic markers and die cut them out using the coordinating die set (yes, I cut out the part between the legs of the boy flamingo on the left with my craft knife. I am weirdly particular like that). To add an extra dimension to my flamingos, I stamped, colored, and cut out an extra set of wings and pop them up with foam tape. The tiny flower die cut I added to the girl flamingo is from Treat Shop Add-On die set. I also stamped, colored, and die cut a sea shell and starfish to add to the scene. These are from the new Hello Summer set.

I adhered all the background pieces and the scallop frame to the card base I made from Kraft card stock. I used foam tape only to the sand piece on the bottom (one with the sentiment). I then foam mounted two birds and glued sea shell and the starfish. I then decided to add some palm tree die cuts from Beach House Add-On die set. I cut them out from black card stock and inked them with Salty Ocean Distress Oxide Ink.

To finish off the card, I added Stardust Stickles to the palm trees and the water. I also applied a coat of Glossy Accents to the coconuts, starfish, shell, and flamingos (eyes, beaks, and legs).

I hope you enjoyed the calm ocean night scene.
Thank you so much for stopping by! Have a wonderful week!!
