Hi Bee friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a sympathy card featuring the Lovely Layers: Easter lilies dies. While Easter lilies are generally white and green, I’m using the lily blossom dies to make stargazer lilies. Stargazers are like rubrum lilies, except they point upward v. downward. Growing up in my parent’s flower shop, I always admired the beauty of the stargazers and rubrums. We used them often because they were a vibrant and beautiful, yet delicate and unique blossom. Because of their size, we used them often in sympathy bouquets, too.

I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products to make this card:

Lovely Layers: Easter Lilies

Old Rugged Cross stamp set

Quatrefoil A2 Cover Plate Top Die

Quatrefoil A2 Cover Plate Base Die

Spring Bliss 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I started by covering the front panel of a card base made from Neenah 80lb Soar White cardstock with a gray ombre pattern paper from the Spring Bliss pad. Because the card is 7″ tall and the paper is 6″ square, I pieced the bottom 1″ with a piece trimmed off the 5″ side. I stamped the beautiful “With Sympathy” script from the Old Rugged Cross stamp set and heat-embossed it in silver.

The background for the lilies was die cut using the Quatrefoil A2 Cover Plate Top die from white cardstock and the Quatrefoil A2 Cover Plate Base die from a lavender cardstock. Because these are A2-sized plates (4-1/4″ X 5-1/2″) and my card is an A7 size (5″ X 7″) the gray paper frames all four sides of the die cut pieces. Don’t you just love the stitching design that shows through each ornate window design?!

I die cut the lilies out of Neenah 80lb Soar White cardstock and colored the petals to look like Stargazers. I did the same with the leaves from the set. The flowers and leaves were arranged and glued down using the Honey Bee Stamp’s Bee Creative Precision Glue. I love this stuff! It’s the best papercraft glue on the market and I’ve tried them all! 🙂 To complete the card, I added six White Vellum Flower Sequins around the spray of lilies and added silver metallic Nuvo drops to the centers of them. It helps tie in the silver sympathy phrase.
