Happy Spring, Happy April and for those of you celebrating today, Happy Easter! What a wonderful day to rejoice! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here and I feel like spring is blooming all around us. Once we get to April, winter is in the past, flowers begin to bloom and the birds are singing sweet melodies outside! I’m ready for the new season! My spring card today features the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Stitched Flowers – Honey Cuts

Slimline Sentiments: Eyelet die set

Loads of Spring stamp and coordinating die set (the bunny face)

Playful Pastels 6″ X 6″ Paper Pad

This is a quick slimline card measuring 8-1/2″ wide X 3-1/2″ tall. It requires very little stamping. The die cuts do all the work for this one!

Spring has Sprung Card

To make this card, I started by ink blending the card front using Wilted Violet, Spun Sugar and Speckled Egg Distressed Oxide inks. I splattered water over the wet inks and blotted with a paper towel to lift some ink. I framed the splotchy background with the eyelet frame border cut from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock.

I die cut the three large stitched blooms and leaves out of the pattern papers and attached them in a row with the lightest print in the middle. I love that petite lavender floral print! Leaves were secured behind the flowers using Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue. Notice that the leaves’ prints are more teal colored v. green, matching with the Speckled Ink color of the background. I added white faux stitching around the flowers’ petals using a white gel pen to make them stand out and to unite the white eyelet border, too. This is easy to do because there are die cut stitches on the flowers. You just have to connect the dots!

Lastly, I stamped and die cut the three bunny faces and attached them to the insides of the flowers using Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white. I used bunnies for Easter, but you could use any fun design inside these large stitched flowers. I colored them using Copics in RV02, RV00, and C1. Sequins in purples, blues and silvers from various mixes were glued on the front and the card front was adhered to a white slimline card base (7″ tall X 8-1/2″ wide and scored down the center) to complete the card. The card fits inside a business-sized envelope. Extra postage may be needed due to the dimension. Check with your local post office.
