Hello friends! Spring is right around the corner for us and I’m ready to welcome it whole heartedly! I wanted to make a fun spring card so I pulled out one of my all time favorite Honey Cuts, the Bee Hive Card, to help create a fresh cheerful design.

I started by die cutting the bee hive card base from some Mustard Yellow Craft Perfect Card. I cut out the smaller bee hive shape in the set to layer over the card base. I used a light dusting of Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink to add the shading. I then splattered with white and black paint.

For the flowers and leaves, I used dies from the Flower Pot Card Honey Cuts. I added shading to each piece and then adhered to the bee hive while being careful to leave a space in the center for the greeting. To create the part stamped, part die cut greeting I used Spring stamp set and Spring Honey Cuts. I shaded the die cut word “Spring” with some Picked Raspberry Distress Oxide Ink.

No bee hive is complete without some cute little bees buzzing around. I used the Honey Bees Paper Piecing Honey Cuts to make two bees. I backed their wings with vellum and added some rosy cheeks before adhering them to the hive with some Thin 3D Foam Squares.
