Hi there! It’s Bobbi here with a card inspired by my own garden of flowers. Peonies are one of my favorite Spring flowers. Not only are they bold, vibrant and beautiful, but they are also very fragrant. I have a few bushes on the side of my house and I can really smell them each time I drive in and out of my garage. Today’s card features the following products available at Honey Bee Stamps:
- Spring Peony stamp and die sets
- Fluttering By stamp set (for the happy birthday phrase and butterfly, only)
- Canson XL Watercolor paper
- My Sweet Petunia
To create this card, I started by adding soft colors in yellow, pinks and greens to Canson XL Watercolor paper. I stamped florals and leaves from the Spring Peony stamp set and colored them using Copic Sketch Markers in RV and YG colors. The images were die cut. I also stamped and colored the butterfly from the Fluttering By stamp set using colors to match the watercolor background. I adhered the blossoms and butterfly to the card front, adding cushion tabs behind a few of the flowers to make the bouquet dimensional.
After all the florals were arranged and attached, I stamped the the birthday phrase using My Sweet Petunia in black ink. To complete this floral birthday card, I added specks of black to the background, around the flowers using a fine tip black marker for added interest.
Here’s another card I made using this same set. Thanks for visiting today!
