Hello Bee Friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski sharing a floral card today using products from the Modern Spring release along with a few older sets, too. I Love the look of pressed dried flowers on cards so I thought I’d try to create the look using paper petal die cuts instead. I am using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Country Lavender stamp set

Get Well soon stamp set and coordinating die set

Lovely Layers: Hydrangeas die set

Stitched Scalloped Square die set

Double Stitched Circle die set

Gingham Galore Spring 6″ X 6″ paper pad

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card panels. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I used the Bee Creative Clear Embossing and Watermark Ink Pad for the heat embossed phrase and Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card measures 5″ X 7″ in size.

To make this card, I started by cutting two 5″ X 7″ panels cut from white cardstock and stamped the front of one window panel using a lavender stem and a ribbon bow image from the Country Lavender stamp set. The lavender blooms were colored in using BV08, V20, V12, V06, V04 and YG67 (for the stems). I splattered on black watercolor paint to create a splotchy, imperfect background. I used the Double Stitched Circle die set to die cut a circle through both of the panels at the same time to ensure they would layer perfectly. A piece of clear acetate was attached to both open windows from the back side (i.e., two acetate pieces were used, one on each panel).

To make the pressed flower petals, I used two slightly different petal layer dies from the Lovely Layers: Hydrangeas die set. I cut five petal pieces out of a lavender cardstock and I shaded each one, on both sides using the same violet colors I used for the lavender stems. I placed the five petal layers between the acetate openings and attached the two panels – all around the window edge – together using double sided tape. This seals the petals inside the acetate see-through window.

Next, I added some gingham strips to the front panel. I trimmed off the bottom edge and added a scallop edge to the bottom, using pattern paper from the Gingham Galore Spring 6″ X 6″ paper pad and a die from the Stitched Scalloped Square die set. To do this, I cut a square larger than 5″ and used two of the scalloped sides to trim the front. I inserted the scallop piece between the front two panels and adhered the layers together.

I also heat embossed and die cut the phrase, “thinking of you” using the Get Well soon stamp set and coordinating die set. I attached the phrase to the gingham strip on the front panel. I also attached a few Gem Stickers from the Halloween Harvest package to the front for extra bling.

For the inside panel, I cut a 5″ wide X 8″ tall piece of white cardstock and scored 1″ down from the top. This one inch section will be inserted between the front and inside front panel to hide the hinged section. Before attaching, I also stamped another phrase from the Get Well soon stamp set and two stems of lavender inside.
