Hello friends. It’s Bobbi Lemanski sharing some peace on earth with these beautiful Lovely Layers: Doves. I’ve made a greeting card and a gift tag using these beautiful layered birds. For my featured projects, I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products from the Holiday Wishes release:

Lovely Layers: Doves Honey Cuts dies

Lovely Layers: Candy Cane Honey Cuts dies

Peace, Love, Joy stamp set and Honey Cuts dies

Heart Be Light stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies

Holiday Wishes Paper Pad

Holiday Wishes Pearl Gem Stickers

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

Holiday Peace Card

To make this 5″ X 7″ card, I used a pattern paper from the Holiday Wishes Paper Pad for the background. I attached it to a white card base. Next. I die cut the dove layers using a natural white for the base and a cream for the top layer. the additional pieces (beak, eye, etc.) were cut from white cardstock. I layered the dove, adding a foam tab between the bottom and top layers to make the dove dimensional.

I used a few Copics in very light brown shades (E53, E51, E40, E42) to enhance and bring out the detailing on the body and wings. the tail feather pieces were colored in Y28, E53 and E40. I kept the colors light and soft. I colored the eye black, the string in gold (Y28) and cut another note out of a light red/coral color. I added a small white heart to the tag using a hand punch I had on hand. I attached the dove to my card base using another foam tab to allow room to tuck in greens behind it in the next step.

I used the foliage from the Lovely Layers: Candy Cane Honey Cuts dies to create a natural background for the dove. I used sage greens, browns, more natural whites and teals for the evergreens and holly sprigs. I arranged them behind the dove, tucking them in and gluing them in place using my Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue. Once the leaves were in place, I added some Ranger Grit paste – Snowfall to the leaves and sprinkled white sparkly glitter over it for snow. (It looks amazing in person and a little harder to see the fine details in the photos.)

To complete the card, I stamped, embossed, die cut and colored the “peace” sentiment using the Peace, Love, Joy stamp set and Honey Cuts dies. I used a coppery color embossing powder, but really black would have probably looked even better. I used the same shades of browns to color in the letters that I used on the dove. I stamped in black, die cut and attached another sentiment above the “peace” using the Heart Be Light stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. To finish the card, I added Holiday Wishes Pearl Gem Stickers to the pines and holly for fruitful berries on the greenery.

Peace on Earth Tag

For my matching dove tag, I used the same products, just changed up the dove (there are two styles of doves in the Lovely Layers: Doves Honey Cuts dies) and the holiday papers from the Holiday Wishes Paper Pad. I made the sprigs of holly green instead of brown, too. I cut the tag by hand, using my cutter.

I attached all of the elements and added the “peace on earth” sentiment from the Heart Be Light stamp set. I added two pearls from the Holiday Wishes Pearl Gem Stickers to the sides of the phrase and added more berries in red to the dove’s berry branch. More snow was added to the leaves using Ranger Grit Paste – Snowfall and sparkly glitter. A gold string finishes off the tag.
