“Peace on earth… goodwill to all” is the inspiration for my card today. I wanted to create a peaceful winter woods setting for this quaint, church made of fieldstone. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Winter Village Honey Cuts

Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery – Honey Cuts

Foil Script: Holiday Hot Foil Plate and Honey Cuts

Pine Trees Honey Cuts

Artsy Angel stamp set

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size. Now for the details…

I cut two sets of Pine Trees and some evergreen branches from the Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery – Honey Cuts out of white cardstock and splattered the pine trees with lavender, blues, and pink watercolor paints. I also die cut the church from the Winter Village set from a warm gray cardstock. I used Copics in W4, W3 and W1 to create the stony exterior. I added window frames and doors cut from a darker gray cardstock and white snow on the roof. I backed the windows with black cardstock.

For the background, I sponged on Distress Oxide Inks in Unchartered Mariner, Black Soot, Milled Lavender and Speckled Egg. I splattered water on top and lifted some of the ink. Next, I used my fan paintbrush and Dr. Ph Marten’s Bleed Proof White Paint to create the white streaks down the ink for a wintery look. The streaks look almost like very distant birch tree trunks.

Next, I layered the cut trees over the inked background, using some of the evergreen branches as the backdrop trees and the pine trees as foreground trees. I nestled the church in between the trees. I used some Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white to attach two of the foreground trees and the church to make them stand out a bit.

I added rhinestones to the pine trees and Liquid Applique snow to the church and the branches. Lastly, I foiled and die cut the word, “peace” from the Foil Script: Holiday Hot Foil Plate and Honey Cuts and attached it to a few hand cut snowy hills at the base of the card.

Inside, I stamped a verse from the Artsy Angel stamp set to complete the card.
