Hi everyone! Bobbi Lemanski here with a card suitable for a fall birthday celebration for any age! My father-in-law turned 89 last week so I made him this card using some of my favorite Honey Bee Stamps products. One of the reasons I love to make handmade cards is because you can personalize it for the recipient. Dad is often called “Papa” by the family members so I personalized this card with the words, “Papa Bear.” He loved it!

To create this card, I used the following products:

I started by using my favorite new Honey Bee Background Blender Brushes to make the background. I used Mermaid Lagoon and Tumbled Glass Distressed Inks for a two-toned appearance. I splattered water on the background and lifted the ink using a paper towel. Next, I splattered watercolor on the blended ink using brown and rust and lifted some of the color off for a varied appearance. I love this vibrant background and the blue works perfectly with fall tones (Blue and orange are opposites on the color wheel and complement each other well!)

Bill the Bear and his hat were stamped, colored with Copics and die cut for the card. I stamped the vest directly on the bear. I chose the blue of the background and some nice fall shades for his vest stripes. His body was colored using Copics in E47, E57, E33 and E31. I also used a fine tip black marker and added individual hairs all over his body for his fur coat. Once Bill was dressed and ready, I added foam tape to the back of the image so that he would be popped up on the card front when placed on the background.

Next, I added leaves…lots of leaves around Bill’s feet. I simply used scraps of fall-colored cardstock and die cut multiple leaves at a time using leaf shapes from the Fall Bouquet stamp set. This was amazingly quick and easy to do. I added additional coloring to each of the leaves to make them look more like fall leaves at different stages of their color change process. đŸ™‚

I die cut the layers of the word, “birthday” using a teal, white and piece of pattern paper in a deep red from the Harvest Festival paper pad. I also embossed the “happy” word on teal using white embossing powder. “Papa Bear” was also stamped on the card front, next to Bill.

Lastly, the inside sentiment was stamped in the card to complete it. The phrase, “From all of us” came from the Gather Together stamp set.
