Hello friends! Happy new week! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and I have fun ocean themed cake shaped card to share with you all. It’s perfect for summer birthday but if you change the sentiment it could be a wedding card or simply hello card! Great thing about this cake shaped card is that it easily fit in a standard A2 size envelop for easy mailing.

The card base is made from teal card stock using Birthday Cake die set (this die set also includes dies for the sponge, whipped cream, and other decorative elements). I felt like I wanted to add some “whipped cream” to the outside of the cake, so die cut the cake shape from white cream card stock, cut out most of the part (except the left edge and the top), and glue it on the card base. For the “sponge” part, I die cut them from white card stock and inked them with five shades of blue and green inks. To add a bit of texture, I stamped the dot detail using Make a Wish stamp set. I adhered the “sponge” to the card base and then started to decorate the cake.

The word ‘birthday’ from Birthday Wishes set was white heat embossed on teal card stock and die cut with the coordinating die. I added an extra die cut on the back to make it stand out a little. I stamped the word ‘Happy’ with blue ink and then glued the ‘Birthday’ die cut.

Now you can decorate your cake however you like! I die cut whipped cream from the Birthday Cake set from white pearl card stock, and all the other elements (all are from Ocean Deep Scene Builder die set) from various card stock to decorate the top of the cake. I added details to some of them with markers. I then added them to my cake with foam adhesives.

After decorating the top of the cake, I felt the space around the sentiment needed something and decided to add these die cuts (also from Ocean Deep Scene Builder set). I die cut them from white pearl card stock and layered few extra die cuts on the back before adhering them around the sentiment.

To finish off the card, I added glitter to some of the elements and scattered a generous amount of Ocean Wave Pearl Stickers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. Have a wonderful week!
