Hello! It’s Bobbi Lemanski sharing a “black-tie” wedding card featuring the newest Honey Bee Stamp’s Lovely Layers flower, the Magnolia! Isn’t she a beauty?! I love this new, grand flower and it pairs so well with the new script font hot foil plates, too. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Lovely Layers: Magnolia dies

Foil Script Wishes Hot Foil Plates and coordinating dies

Inside: Wedding Sentiments stamp set and coordinating dies (I used the stamp set, only.)

Bee Shimmer Liquid Shimmer Watercolor

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

To make this A7-sized card, I started by scoring a 5″ wide x 11″ tall piece of cardstock at 4″ from the top to make the the front card flap 4″ long and the back panel 7″ long. I added 1/2″ strips of black to the flap, leaving small strips of white to show through in between the black. This gives quite a “black tie” look to this wedding card. 🙂

Next, I die cut the elements of the magnolia from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock using the Honey Bee Layering Guide for step-by-step instructions. I like to make the flower more dimensional so I use a Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Square in white between the bottom two layers. I used glue in the center only for the rest of the layers. I am hand delivering this card to the bride and groom next weekend so I did not have to worry about mailing it through USPS mail service. A little dimension will be fine!

I used a Copic Marker in E50 to add some subtle color to the definition lines in the petals and E49, E44, Y21 and Y28 to add color to the center of the flower. For the leaves, I used YG67, YG63 and YG61. Once I’m done assembling, I like to bend some of the top petals upward to make the flower really “blossom” off the page. I love the simplicity and beauty of this beautiful flower! I applied Bee Shimmer Liquid Shimmer Watercolor to the top petals to make it shine. This stuff is great on this magnolia!

For the “congratulations” script, I used the new Foil Script Wishes Hot Foil Plates and coordinating dies and Gold Glimmer Foil. I followed the instructions on my Spellbinders Glimmer Hot Foil System to foil the word and then die cut it using the coordinating cutting die. I added small bits of dimensional foam to make it stand out from the base and attached to the inside of the card, below the card front flap (that shows from the outside).

Inside the card, I stamped two phrases from the new Inside: Wedding Sentiments stamp set and coordinating dies using my Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. This card is now ready for the happy couple in its “black-tie” design!
