Hi Bee friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a card to celebrate the fall season. As I’m working, I see lots of leaves swirling in the air, outside my studio. It’s a windy day in Wisconsin and that means a leaf storm! With leaves on my mind, I created this triple layer card today to celebrate autumn. This card would be a nice thank you, thinking of you, or Happy Thanksgiving card for someone you know.

My card features the following Autumn Afternoon release products by Honey Bee Stamps:

Lovely Layers Maple Leaf die set

Autumn stamp set

Nuts About You stamp and die sets

Itty Bitty Leaves die set

Autumn Afternoon 6″ X 6″ pattern paper

My card measures 5″ X 7″ when closed. Each layer of the card opens to reveal a new view of lovely fall leaves. On the outside, the large maple leaf die cut acts as a window to the inside to view the cute squirrel duo, sharing an acorn together. To make the card front, I die cut the large leaf out of white 80 lb. cardstock blended with Distressed Ink in Antique Linen and Rusty Hinge in the middle and splattered with Kuretake Gansai Tambi watercolor paint in black and metallic gold. I stamped and colored a few leaves and an acorn for accent. The front cover was backed with a another piece of white cardstock to cover the Copic bleeds and hinged to the left side of the dark brown card base (Note: The base measures 10-1/4″ wide X 7″ tall and scored at 1/2″ and 5-1/2, allowing a 1/2″ flap for the hinge on the left and a 4-3/4″ wide right-side panel.)

When the card is opened, It reveals the squirrel pair and a wreath of leaves, die cut from the right side panel of the tri-fold. I added the itty bitty die cut leaves in rust, gold and dark brown around the base of the squirrels in the middle. This large, open leafy die cut wreath offers a set of little windows to the third layer. You can see some color showing through the cuts. I added additional white dots around the wreath to fill in and add lightness to the dark brown with my white gel pen.

I love that when this card is opened, you can enjoy the large maple leaf opening from the inside, too. It allows the leaf to be be organically colored in with whatever you have under it. In the photo, you can see my acorns and table top. It’s like two pretty views in one. 🙂

When the entire tri-fold card is opened, this pretty leaf pattern paper fills the entire center fold panel. Since my card is 7″ tall and the pattern paper is only 6″ square, I trimmed it down to 5″ wide and added a 1″ coordinating paper to the bottom for 7″ height. I also added a band of white cardstock stamped with “blessings” and finished with faux brown stitching on the edges to connect the two elements.

What I love most about this card is that each tri-fold layer opens to a new view of autumn. I also love that when the card is fully opened, the panels show leaves from one-to-many, and big-to-small. There is beauty in each layer. Honey Bee Stamps did a beautiful job creating a release full of gorgeous Autumn Afternoon beauty! You can shop the entire release here!
