Hi there! It’s Bobbi Hartmann Lemanski here sharing a valentine idea that includes a custom envelope with an interlocking heart closure and a coordinating card for the inside. I’m using a number of new items from the Honey Bee Stamps latest release, Bee Mine including:

Pierced XOXO Hearts die set

Heartfelt Pocket die set

Bad Influence stamp and die set

Sweet On You 6″ X 6″ paper pad

Back to Basics 6″ X 6″ paper pad

Angel Policy stamp set

Die Release Tool

Both projects are very easy to make, but there are some tips I’d like to share with you that I found were easier to show in video than explain below in words. Here’s the video to demonstrate those tips. I’m also sharing the steps in making the coordinating set below as well as all of the links to the products used for your convenience.

Now, let’s get started with the envelope first…

Envelope

I made this 4-1/4″ square envelope from a 6″ X 6″ pattern paper from the Back to Basics paper pad. I scored from the 3″ center on one side to the adjacent 3″ center on the next edge all around the square, scoring four times. Once all four sides were scored, a 4-1/4″ square envelope base was formed. Hearts cut from the Heartfelt Pocket die set were layered and glued together then positioned and glued to each corner of the 6″ square as shown. I also added the XOXOs from the Pierced XOXO Hearts die set on each heart to finish the envelope. Again, helpful tips and more details including a demonstration on how to close the envelope properly are included in the video above.

Card

To make this 4″ square, top-fold, coordinating card, I added the gingham pattern paper from the Sweet On You 6″ X 6″ paper pad. From the same paper pad, I also cut out the “Happy Valentine’s Day” and “You’re the Sweetest” phrases. I added the larger red heart using the smallest stitched heart die from the Pierced XOXO Hearts die set. I stamped, colored and die cut the pig. I stamped kisses, using a stamp from the Angel Policy stamp set, on his face. The pig and “Happy Valentine’s Day” phrase were adhered to the front. I added black stitching around the perimeter of the gingham paper using a fine-tip black marker and ruler.

A few Xs, Os and hearts were added to the front from the Pierced XOXO Hearts die set. the “Hogs and Kisses” phrase from the Bad Influence stamp and die sets were cut and backed with black foam to make the words stand out. Everything was adhered together to complete the card front.

The “To My Sweetie” phrase and Xs and Os were attached to the inside of the card. Faux stitching lines were added to the edges of the phrase to match the card front and make it appear like it is a label stitched in the inside.

The 4″ square card fits nicely inside the 4-1/4″ square envelope. The entire set – card and envelope – fits in an A2-sized envelope. The card and envie mail flat so no extra postage is needed either!
