Hello Bee friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a couple of fun projects to celebrate – perhaps poke fun a bit – at this very looong and imperfect 2020 year. This year has felt like forever with the Covid-19 pandemic. It’s been so long that these sweet gnomes’ beards have grown to very long lengths. Even Santa Gnome has taken to drinking a beer. ;0) Believe it or not, all three gnomes were made using pinecones, Christmas trees and a little imagination! For these slimline tags and card, I’m using the following products from Honey Bee Stamps:

Lovely Layers Pinecone die set

Stacking Pines die set

Bee Narrow Uppercase alphabet die set

No Peeking die set

Raise A Glass stamp and coordinating die set

I used 80lb Neenah Classic Crest Cardstock for most of the paper die cuts, the card base and front panel. Only the ribbons were cut from colored cardstock. All layers were adhered together using the fabulous Honey Bee Stamps, Precision Glue.

Holiday Gnome Tags

To make these gnome tags, I created the hats using the Stacking Pines tree die set and beards using the Lovely Layers: Pinecones die set. I cut two each of the four largest pinecone layers and adhered them together to make the very long beards. I used the evergreen branches in the set to create the gnome hair.

Miss Gnome has longer hair with cute red and pink bows on each pigtail. Her hat is adorned with fun ribbons from the No Peeking die set. I used an oval die to cut the nose from cardstock and 3MM white craft foam. I used Copics in E21, E11, E00 and E000 to color the oval. A green pom pom finished off the top of her pointed hat.

For Mr. Gnome, I created the hat and beard from the same dies and added gray coloring/shading on the beard using C3, C1 and C0 Copic markers. I added some white pom pom trim and a larger pom pom at the top to decorate the hat. The fifth layer of the pinecone die set was used for the mustache. I simply turned it upside down and added the nose over the center of the piece and trimmed the center. A sparkly iridescent string was added to finish the tag.

Santa Gnome Slimline Card

For the slimline card (measuring 3-1/2″ wide X 8-1/2″ long), I colored white cardstock in a rainbow of colors and die cut the phrase, “It’s been a loooong year!” using the Bee Narrow Alphabet die set. The letters were positioned and adhered on front to allow room for the cute gnome to be added at the bottom.

To make the gnome, I used the twotier tree for the hat, added pom pom trim and a pom pom at the top. I used the evergreens for the hair and beard.

For the mustache, I used the fifth layer of the pinecone die set in an upright position and added the oval-shaped nose. Ta-da… you have the face of a gnome!

I added the glass of beer right below the gnome nose and mustache and added two half-circle hands made from a 1/2″ circle shape cut in half. I used the same colors that I used for the nose, to color the hands. Black faux stitching was added all around the perimeter using a fine-tip black marker, too. Celebration Confetti Mix sequins (love these because they don’t have a whole in the middle) were added around the letters for a little festive bling!
