Hello, Honey Bee friends!! I hope your week is off to a great start!!

To be honest, when I started this card, I really didn’t have much of an idea of where it would end up…ha! I knew that I wanted to use some of the products from the Hello Summer Release to create a beach card…that’s about it!

To start, I stamped some of the images from Hello Summer onto white cardstock with Momento Tuxedo Black Ink, colored them with Copics and cut them out with the Coordinating Dies. I cut the Slimline Sentiments Eyelet Honey Cuts frame and panel twice, once from white cardstock and once from Bristol Smooth. (I get much better results ink blending onto Bristol.) I cut a circle from masking paper and adhered it to my Bristol panel. The following Distress Oxide Inks were used with blending brushes to blend the sunset onto the panel: Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Picked Raspberry, Wilted Violet and Salty Ocean. After removing the mask, I blended more Mustard Seed onto the sun.

Next, I die-cut a piece of sand patterned paper from the Beach Vibes Paper Pad and tore it to create the shoreline. Another piece of patterned paper from the same paper pad was used to cut the waves with the Makin’ Waves Long Border Honey Cuts. I added some white paint with a stiff brush along the edges of the shoreline and waves.

I was still undecided about the sentiment. As I was adhering everything together, I said to myself (or maybe out loud…I’m not the only one who talks to myself while crafting, am I?), “‘this would be an awesome retirement card”. I found exactly what I was looking for in the You’re A Classic stamp set. I stamped it with Versafine Onyx Black Ink onto white cardstock and cut it out with the Coordinating Honey Cuts.

Everything was adhered to a slimline kraft cardbase. I added a few highlights to the images with a white gel pen and that’s it!!

Thanks for spending a bit of time with me today!! Have a great week and I’ll see you next week!!

Brenda
