Hello there! Leanne here and I’m back with more birthday card inspiration. For today’s card I created a slimline scene using images from the Happy BEEday stamp set.

My slimline card base measures 8.5″ tall by 3.5″ wide. I started by creating a background panel trimmed slightly smaller than the card base dimensions. I created the ombre’ ink blend with Milled Lavender and Seedless Preserves Distress Oxides.

Next I Copic colored all the images. My go to Copic colors for bees are Y11, Y15, & Y17 for the yellow parts. N4 & N6 for the black parts. I used B0000 and B000 to give just a touch of shading on the wings. R20 was used for the rosy cheeks. The bee hive was colored with orange yellow tones – YR21, YR24, YR26.

The branches and tree trunk were colored with E41, E43, & E44. For the Leaves I used YG11 & YG17. The purple on the cake and hats is B60 & B66. The pale violet tones are V000 & V01.

I used the coordinating Happy BEEday Honey Cuts to die cut all my colored images and then adhered them to the background panel with Thin Dimensional Foam Squares. I left spaces to add the sentiments strips which were white heat embossed on dark grey card stock. The sentiment stamps come from the Buzz 3×4 Stamp Set.
