Hi Bee friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here sharing two modern, geometric cards for 2021 graduates. I have two kids graduating this year with many friends graduating with them! I’m getting a head start on my cards now so I’m ready for the celebration season! Today, I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Congrats Grad stamp set

Tailgate Alphabet die set

Stacking Pennant die set

Hexagon Solid Stack die set

Metallic Grad Card

For my first 5″ X 7″ card, I used metallic cardstock in silver and gold and matte cardstock in charcoal gray and black to create the graphic design. I used the pennant in the stack that measures 2″ X 2-3/4″ and cut 2-3 of each color.

Because this card is 7″ wide and requires a 14″ length, (too long to fit on a 8-1/2″ X 11″ cardstock sheet,) I had to cut the front and back in two pieces and join them together.

To create the 7″ width card base, I cut two pieces of Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock – a front panel measuring 7″ wide X 5″ tall and a back panel measuring 8-1/4″ wide X 5″ tall, and scored it at 7″. I overlapped the 1-1/4″ white strip on the back panel over the front panel to connect the two pieces. I added a 1/4″ strip of black between the pennant design and the white cardstock for a nice finish and to conceal the back overlaying edge.

I attached the die cuts to the A7 the card base. I added the 2021 numbers vertically in the white strip to tailor the card to the graduate. I stamped the “congratulations” phrase in Versamark and heat embossed it using White Opaque Embossing Powder. Small gold metallic star sequins and Silver Lights Confetti mix were added for some sparkle.

Congrats, Graduate!

For this 5″ X 7″ card, I used the Hexagon dies to create the fun background. You can tailor it to the graduate’s school colors, too. Our high school’s colors are purple, black and white. I used the hexagon die from the stack that measures 1-7/8″ X 1-5/8″.

I made sure to position a white shape where I wanted my phrase to be. I stamped the “Congrats, Graduate” on the white hexagon in the upper right corner.

Small silver metallic star sequins from the Galaxy Sequin Mix and Silver Lights Confetti pieces were added around the phrase for some sparkle to finish this card.
