Autumn Blessings

My first card measures 5″ X 7″ and includes a generous custom wreath made of fall leaves. To create the background, I used a ruler and fine-tip black marker to create vertical planking. I used Copics in W2, W4, and YR30 to create some graining on the planks. Bronze Nuvo drops were added to the corners of the planks to mimic aged, nail heads.

I stamped, colored and cut the leaves and acorns from the set and placed them in a circular design. I popped up a few leaves for dimension. To cut the leaves out, there is a Honey Cuts die set that matches the stamps for quick cutting!

I heat embossed “Autumn Blessings” using WOW! gold embossing powder. I added a hemp string bow to finish the look.

Happy Fall

My second card is a 5″ X 7″ landscape card and includes three of the pumpkins from the same Pumpkin Patch stamp set. I turned the pumpkins into little houses by adding cedar shake shingled roofs and and an opening/door to each one. I added the details to make the pumpkins look sort of like acorns for fall. I added the pumpkin trio to the front using dimensional tabs on two of them to make them stand out from the largest one in the center.

I glued falling leaves using my Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Tip Glue. In my opinion, the Honey Bee Stamps Precision glue is the best glue on the market by far and I’ve tried most of them! It does not clog. Bronze Nuvo drops were added for some dimension. A wood ledge grounds these cute pumpkins. I hand drew some woodgrain on a strip of white cardstock and colored it in Copic E shades. You could also use the Woodgrain Background Stamp, too, to achieve the same look. I happen to love creating custom woodgrain!

Before attaching the wood ledge, I stenciled a leafy pattern using the Palm Frond stencil and Distressed Oxide inks in Peeled Paint, Crushed Olive and Fossilized Amber. I used my Honey Bee Stamps Blender Brushes to complete this step. These brushes are awesome and part of the sale, too!

Another great set of cards. Now I am inspired to make some fall cards. I set today aside to play with my paper crafts today with my friend Lore. Thanks for the inspiration.
