Hello! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a very sweet pop-up card filled with colorful and juicy fruit. One thing I love about summer is the fresh fruit that’s available. The sweet flavors of these natural treats are so tasty on a hot, summer day. I wanted to display these fresh picks on my card. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Freshly Picked stamp and die sets *

Pearfect Sentiments stamp and die sets *

Surprise Box Card Base die set (for the dimensional box)

Celebration Box stamp and die sets (for the flat boxes)

Palm Frond Stencil *

Beach Vibes 6″ X 6″ pattern paper pad *

Hot Tropics 6″ X 6″ pattern paper pad *

*Hello Summer Release product

Here’s how it works:

This 5″ X 7″ card requires a lot of fruit. 🙂 To make the fruit, I stamped, Copic-colored, and cut them out because I love to color. However, if coloring is not your thing, this stamp set offers stamp “fills” to quickly color in all the fruit using the fill stamps and a Misti or similar stamping tool. You can also layer stamp using your eyes to gauge layering the images, too. Making the fruit is quick when using the fill stamps. Also, there is a die set that will cut out all of the fruit perfectly, too.

The boxes are simple to make. I stamped the flat boxes using black ink on Kraft paper. I added some shading to one side of each of the boxes for added dimension in the look. For the front, pop-up box, I die cut it from Kraft paper using the Surprise Box Card Base die set and assembled it. It’s attached to both sides of the card using strong, double-sided tape. I added the internal partitions to the inside (that come with the box die) in order to add the peaches inside the box. Notice, I used the new Palm Frond Stencil to create the subtle leafy design on both the inside and outside backgrounds.

For the outside of this card, I used a wicker pattern paper from the Beach Vibes paper pad and cut it in the shape of a basket to hold the fruit. The painted yellow planks are another pattern paper from the Hot Tropics pattern paper pad. The sentiments (from the Pearfect Sentiments stamp set) on the inside and outside were stamped, die cut and adhered to the card. I used two of the phrases as signs. I simply added a “post” to them that could be inserted into the fruit boxes.

Inside, the same wicker pattern paper was used to ground the wood shelf that the boxes rest on. For the woodgrain ledge, I hand drew it with a black marker, but you could use the Woodgrain Background stamp to create it, too. This 5″ X 7″ card is thicker with the surprise box attached inside and will require extra postage to mail. I think it’s worth it though. 🙂
