Happy new week friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and I have a birthday card to share with you. Apart from the sentiments, the card is made entirely from die cuts! Since there was no coloring or ink blending, this was pretty fast card (well, at least for me it was LOL) to put together.

I choose to go with a dark background with colorful florals today but this design will look amazing in all sorts of color schemes! I cut a piece of black card stock to 5″ X 7″ and to add some interest to the plain black panel, I used the largest die in the A7 Double Stitched Frames set to add cut/stitching lines. I then made a A7 (5″ x 7″) card base out of a heavy weight white card stock and adhered both the panel and the frame.

The sentiments are from Bitty Buzzwords set and Inside: Birthday set and they were gold heat embossed on the oval panel I die cut from the same black card stock using Double Stitched Ovals die. I then die cut all the flowers and leaves from various colors of card stock scrap (yes, this is a perfect card to use up some of the scraps you accumulated!). I went through my Honey Bee die collection and pick out the ones I want to use for this design (see the list below). Honey Bee Stamps has so many great floral die sets and honestly, you can make a similar design with just one or two sets. The key here is to pick a color to go with your intended design. My card today is pretty summerly but I still used the dies from winter floral set because I liked the shape of them.

<Die Sets Used>
Spring Bouquets
Tropical Bouquets
Fall Bouquets
Country Christmas Wreath
Apron Garden Tools Add-On (tiny flowers)

Now all you need to do is to adhere all the die cuts. TIP: I usually start with the focal images (hibiscus and the orange flower) and move on to the large leaves and other flowers, and then to the smaller/thinner elements. I knew I wanted to pop up the oval panel (and some florals adhered on top of that), so glued the die cuts first then added the oval panel with a double layers of foam tapes.

To finish off the card, I added glitter accents and Glossy Accents to some areas and gem stickers to the flower centers.

Thank you so much for stopping by today!
Have a wonderful week!
