It feels like forever since I’ve been up on the blog but I’m hoping this project is worth the wait!

I’m am absolutely in love with this new set from Emily Midgett and Honey Bee Stamps. I couldn’t wait to use it!

There’s so many different ways to use the gorgeous floral spray from Everything Wonderful but I wanted to watercolor it. That’s not even my go-to medium but I thought it would look amazing.

I started with watercolor paper and stamped my image using INK on 3 Fadeout Ink. This gives a light impression that absorbs the color as you paint over it making that no-line look much easier to achieve.

A couple of tips for watercoloring. Don’t paint next to an area that is wet. They’ll bleed together. Use minimal water. Less water = More control. Plus it dries really fast so if you want to layer other colors there’s next to no wait time. In order to get minimal water on your brush use a paper towel to blot the excess water from the base of the bristles. This leaves the end with enough water to move the pigment but not so much that you can’t control it.
