Hi there! Emily Midgett here with you today! It finally feels a little like fall around here (though it’s supposed to get hot again this weekend…. boo.) so I thought I would celebrate this momentary vernal reprieve with a thoroughly autumnal card using some of the latest Honey Bee stamps and dies!

My card is inspired pretty much entirely by my husband’s classic hunter green ’51 Chevy 5 window truck and our mustard-colored house with a hunter green roof! I combined the House Builder Honey Cuts with the Haunted House Add-On Honey Cuts to create a slightly offset house with a tree just off of the front porch, just like my own house! I used Blending Brushes and coordinating colored dye inks to add some subtle ink blending around the edges of the die cuts, which helps to add a bit more dimension to these relatively flat die cuts.

I used the same blending technique for the Little Pickup Truck die cuts, adding some subtle ink blending on the edges of the individual piece before piecing the truck together with both liquid and foam adhesive. I also added a few orange pumpkins cut from the Haunted House Add-On Honey Cuts to the back of the truck.

For the card base/background, I again used blending brushes and some deep periwinkle, grape, and apricot colored inks to create an autumnal sunset on a white A2 card base. I layered the house, tree, and truck on the sunset, then added a sentiment from Fall dies and stamps.

Well, that’s all for my project today! Thanks so much for stopping by, and have a marvelous weekend!
