Happy new week friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio today. I am sharing this cute encouragement card featuring Hope the hedgehog and her puppy friend! Aren’t they just the cutest?

I started off by stamping Hope, her outfit and a bow, pompoms, and flag from Hope the Hedgehog set, and a puppy from the previously released Puppy Love set. I colored them with my Copics and added some texture with colored pencils and gel pens. For the flag, I white heat embossed “GO YOU” from the Hope the Hedgehog set. Then I die cut them out using the coordinating die sets (except her outfit and a bow. I fussy cut them out and glued them on). I cut a small slit around the puppy’s paw, and tuck the flag pole in so it looks like he is holding the flag.

For the background, I cut a piece of heavy weight white card stock to 5″ x 7″ and lightly inked it with Spun Sugar Distress Oxide Ink using the new Background Blender Brush. Then I layered on the Radiant stencil and added the texture with the same ink and the brush. On top, I layered another stencil, this time the brand new Confetti Background stencil and inked in over with several bright colored inks (I used Peacock Feathers, Squeezed Lemonade, Worn Lipstick Distress Oxide Inks) using the Detail Blender Brushes.

The sentiment “I’m cheering FOR YOU!” is from Cheering For You stamp set and I stamped it with Abandoned Coral Distress Oxide Ink and then clear heat embossed on top to make it stand out a little more.

At this point, I lay out all the elements for the card and decided to add a subtle frame around the edge. To do this, I used A7 Double Stitched Frames die to cut the frame out. I pop this frame up on a A7 card base with a layer of foam tapes, and then glued the panel flat in the middle. I also used foam tapes to the puppy and the flag. For Hope, I used an action wobbler so she will shake and wobble. How fun is that! It also adds much more dimension than a layer of foam tapes (but still lay pretty flat when you mail!), so it will create an illusion that the puppy is quite far behind Hope.

For the finishing touches, I added a green gem to her outfit, and scattered Acrylic Hearts in both clear and sugared peach color all over the card front.

Thank you so so much for stopping by today.
Have a wonderful week!!
