Hi there, it’s Bobbi Lemanski here with holiday cards that will make you howl… well at least make you paws for a moment. đŸ™‚ There’s no denying that I’m a dog fan and I know I’m not alone. For all you dog lovers, here’s some paws-sitively fun cards to inspire your holiday cardmaking.

Card 1: “From Santa Paws”

If my sweet Stella Mae (our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel) wished for a holiday tree made just for her, I’m pretty sure it would look like this one! I used the following Honey Bee products for this 5″ X 7″ card:

Puppy Love stamp and die sets

Santa Express stamp set

Bee Bold Alphabet Die set

Stacking Pines Stencil

Snow Buddies Stamp set (for the Santa hat, only.)

While this card is pretty straightforward, I wanted to share a few tips. (1) I used the Stacking Pines Stencil to create the dog bone tree. I stamped the two sizes of bones within the stencil design like a puzzle. I also used two masks made from Post-It notes – one for the larger bone and one for the smaller bone – and stamped bones around the edges, masking as needed to avoid any line overlap. I colored the layers of bones from lightest in front to darkest in the back for shadowing to show depth in the bone tree. (2) I used strips of cardstock to create a custom striped paper and die cut the PAWS letters from it. This is a great way to use up some cardstock scraps, too. (See photos below.)

Card 2: “Have a Jolly HOWL-liday”

My second 5″ X 7″ card features the following Honey Bee Products:

Puppy Love stamp and die sets

Fa La La stamp set

Bee Bold Alphabet Die set

Winter Bouquet Die Set (for the antlers only)

Layering Snowflakes Die Set (for the larger, single snowflake)

Snowy Day Confetti Mix (tiny snowflake on the nose)

My second card is another easy one to make. I used a custom cardstock pattern made of strips of paper to die cut the HOWL letters. This time, I used wider strips and only two colors. I found just the right words to use with “howl” in the Fa La La set. The tiny snowflake on the puppy’s nose is actually a sequin, while the larger one was cut from the Layering Snowflakes die set. Lastly, I used a Uni-ball Signo White Gel Pen for the falling snowflakes on both cards.
