Hello Honey Bee friends!! I have a couple of slim-line cards to share with you today that were totally inspired by the colors of the beautiful new Bee’s Knees Embossing Powder Trio!!

Butterfly-slim-line-1

I began by trimming watercolor paper into a size that would fit onto the front of my slim-line card, leaving a narrow border around the outside. The watercolor panels were watercolored with diluted Mermaid Lagoon, Cracked Pistachio and Mustard Seed Distress Inks and set aside to dry.

For the first card, the butterflies from the Fluttering By stamp set and the greeting from the Happy Birthday set were heat embossed onto vellum using the Bee True embossing powder from the Bee’s Knees Embossing Powder Trio. They were cut out using the Fluttering By and Happy Birthday Coordinating Honey Cuts and adhered to the watercolored panel as shown. The butterflies were only adhered down the center, allowing the wings to pop up for added dimension.

A sprinkling of sequins from the Limited Edition Rainbow Deluxe Sequin Set completes the card.

The second card was created much the same way…

This time, the butterflies were white heat embossed onto iridescent vellum. The Wish stamp set and Coordinating Honey Cuts were used for the greeting.

Do you have a favorite? I can’t decide!! I love the sparkle of the Bee True Embossing Powder, but I also like the softness of the white one!!

Thanks for stopping by today!! I’ll see you next Tuesday!!

Brenda
