Hi Friends! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio and I hope your week is off to a good start! Today I have this adorable pickup (driven by a cute puppy) shaped card to share with you all. This card fits in a standard A2 sized envelop for easy mailing. I made the front and the back of the pickup to be one card, but you can make these into two cards too!

I started by stamping all the images on a piece of watercolor paper with water proof ink and applied a clear embossing powder and heat set them (you can skip the heat embossing. I did it to avoid smearing the ink). I wanted to add some dimension by popping up the back of the truck (there is a die included to cut this part out separately) so I stamped this part twice.

Here are the stamps and dies used:
Big Pickup Cab: Front of the pickup and ‘special delivery’ sentiment
Big Pickup Tailgate: Back of the pickup and ‘HB2U’ sentiment
Puppy Dog Tails: All three puppies
Loads of Love: Heart shaped balloons
Tailgate Alphabet: UR GR8
Easter Basket Builder: Bow

I colored all the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers and die cut them with the coordinating dies except for the two puppies in the front that I fussy cut out with my scissors. I layered the back of the truck I die cut with foam tapes and adhered the “UR GR8′ I die cut from white card stock using the Tailgate Alphabet die set. TIP: Avoid adding foam tapes to the top edge so you can tuck in the balloons and the cute husky puppy.

For the front of the pickup, I cut out the front wild shield with a craft knife and adhered the two puppy images I fussy cut. How cute are these duo? I love how they worked in this scene so much! TIP: I managed to cut out the steering wheel and added it to the puppy image. It’s a small detail, but I love how it turned out. I also added the bow with some foam tapes.

To make the pickup shaped card base, I first made a card base (fold on the top) big enough for the truck image and strategically placed the pickup die so the blade on the top hangs out. By doing this, the top fold will remain uncut and you will have a shaped card base. The front windshield (with two puppies) is adhered flat on the card base and the rest of the pickup is popped up with a layer of foam tapes. The back of the pickup is glued flat.

To finish off the card, I added Glossy Accents to the balloons, die cut alphabets and other small parts of the truck. I also added googly eyes to the front of the truck.

Thank you so much for stopping by today. have an amazing week!!
