Hello everyone! Leanne here to share a fun Birds of Paradise card with you. I hope you all have been feeling the tropical vibes from Honey Bee’s Hello Summer release and gotten a chance to shop. The Birds of Paradise stamp set is quickly becoming one of my favorites from the release. With all the cute birds plus pretty tropical foliage, the possibilities are endless.

For Today’s card, I wanted create a colorful scene using the images from Birds of Paradise and create a custom frame to coordinate with it. I used the Garden Lattice Stencil Set to create a two toned tiled pattern for the frame. There’s two stencils in the set. The first layer is stenciled with Peacock Feathers Distress Oxide ink. The second layer is stenciled with Twisted Citron. I used the Double Stitched Oval Honey Cuts to create the opening in the stenciled panel. I then added an Oval Thin Frame die cut from Sugar Crystal Glitter Card.

I layered the stenciled frame overtop an ink blended background and the card front was ready to start adding my Copic colored images. I tucked some of the images behind the frame and adhered some right over top. To complete the card, I added a stamped and die cut the greeting using the Topical Tweets Stamp Set and coordinating Honey Cuts.

Copics used to color the images: YG11, YG13, YG17, G00, G03, BG10, BG11, BG13, B60, B63, B66, RV52, RV63, RV55, N02, N04

this is great. I was looking for something other than florals and people to add to my cards – and birds fill the bill.
