Hello friends! Leanne here and I’m happy to be sharing more Valentine’s inspiration. I’ve mixed new and old Honey Cuts to create this multi-layer slimline card. I’m a layers girl! I love to have lots of layers on my cards to create texture and interest.

Most of the time I mix stamped images with die cut elements but this card is all die cut! My slimline card base measures 3.5″ wide by 8.5″ tall. I’ve listed below all the Honey Cuts used going from bottom layer to top.

I used Bee Creative Precision Tip Glue to adhere the Hexi Slimline Cover Plate layers onto the card base. They perfectly fit a slimline card. Once I had the hexi background in place, I laid out where all the hearts and greeting would be placed.

The “bee mine” die cut words are in a lovely thin scripty font. I felt like they could get lost against the hexi background. I decided to add a panel of vellum to diffuse the busy background just enough so the words stand out more. This vellum piece is 2.5″ wide and placed at an angle.

I added the layered hearts and the paper pieced bees with Thin 3D Adhesive Foam Squares. The bees wings are backed with the same vellum I used behind the words. I gave them rosy cheeks with an R20 Copic Marker and added highlight detail with a white Gelly Roll pen. Lastly I adhered a few sequins from the Joyful Sequin Mix.
