Hello Honey Bee friends! Does it feel like autumn where you’re at? It’s still summer time hot here, but I’m getting into all the autumn feels with my watercolored card featuring the gorgeous Autumn Spendor A2 Cover Plate Honey Cuts. As a bonus, this is a shaker card too! Read on for the details!

I began by die cutting some Bristol Smooth card stock with the Autumn Splendor A2 cover plate die. Then I used various Zig Clean Color Real Brush markers. I’ll have the colors I use listed at the end of this post. There is a 12-pack of Zig markers in the Honey Bee shop that has all the basic colors you need to achieve similar results. It was so fun and relaxing to color this gorgeous die cut. TIP: I find using the Zig Blender Brush is very helpful for blending the colors since it has much less moisture than a brush with water. However, I did try using a brush and after I dipped it in water, I pinched the brush with my fingers to squeeze out most of the water, and the results in my coloring were very similar! Give it a try, and just experiment and have fun!!

To create my shaker, I adhered a piece of 4-1/8″ x 5-3/8″ vellum to the back of the Autumn Splendor panel. I added strips of foam tape to the back around the edges (I did need to cut them down a bit). I added foam squares to the back of a couple leaves for additional support. Next I adhered some olive green card stock from my stash to a top-folding A2 card base with Bee Creative glue. Then I sprinkled some autumn colored sequins from my stash onto the card base, taking care to leave the spaces where the foam squares would be all clear. I think the Autumn Afternoon Sequin Mix would work fabulously!

Something I’ve learned to do (because I forgot so many times–haha!) is to pat my anti-static pouch along the edges of the foam tape before I remove the backing. So often I forgot to do this and then the bling sticks to it! Next I adhered the panel to the card base.

Then I added Ruby Slippers Nuvo Drops to each of the berries and set it aside to dry.

Next I die cut some gold glitter card stock and white card stock with the Autumn shadow and script dies from the Bitty Buzzwords: Seasons Honey Cuts set. I die cut the script three more times with white card stock and adhered the layers together. Then I used a dark brown Copic to color the top layer and adhered it to the gold glitter shadow. I used the same brown Copic to color a scrap of Neenah 80# card stock and then stamped the sentiments with Versamark clear ink. The top sentiment is from the Bitty Buzzwords: Seasons and I found the “birthday” in the Bitty Buzzwords stamp set. I sprinkled on some gold sparkle embossing powder and heat set it. After I trimmed the sentiments I added thin foam strips to the back. I added these thin foam squares to the back of the “autumn” sentiment and adhered all the sentiments to the card.

I just love how this turned out! I hope I’ve inspired you to try your own version of watercoloring using this gorgeous Autumn Splendor A2 cover plate! Thank you so very much for stopping by!

These are the Zigs I used: Dark Brown, Mid Brown, Brown, Beige, Olive Green, Light Green, Deep Green, Geranium, Orange, Bright Yellow, Yellow Green, and the Blender
