Hello Bee friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here sharing three sunflower cards featuring new products from the Autumn Splendor release. I love all the Honey Bee layered flowers and this release includes a beautiful, layered sunflower. It is gorgeous. I had so much fun with the die set that I created three cards featuring the majestic blossom. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products on my cards:

Lovely Layers: Sunflowers

Thinking of You Big Time stamp set and coordinating die set

Sweet Stacks Circles die set

Itty Bitty Fall Flowers dies

Autumn Splendor A2 Cover Plate Die

Gingham Galore 6″ X 6″ paper pad

Congrats Card

To make this 6″ wide X 5″ tall card, I created a 4″ X 6″ card base out of Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock (used this cardstock for all white cardstock noted in this post) and added a pretty gingham paper to the front panel. Next, I used the Sweet Stacks Circles die set and die cut a mint green layer (4″diameter) and white cardstock layer (3-3/4″ diameter) and adhered them together. I attached the circles to the card base, making sure my total card height was 5″ or less to fit inside an A7 envelope.

I die cut all the sunflower layers from white cardstock stacked (not glued) the petal layers only and cut the flower in half. I kept the center pieces full size. I used my Copic Sketch markers to color the petals and flower center.

  • I used the following markers for the petals: YR04, YR6 Y38, Y19, YG21, YG99, YG03, BG13, BG11, B01, B00, BV00, V01, V04.
  • For the flower centers, I used: E57, YR27, YR24, Y19, Y06
  • For the leaves used in cards 2 and 3, I used YG67, YG63, YG61, YG21, YG03 and YG00

Once the flower layers were colored, I adhered them together using Bee Creative Precision Glue. I glued the 1/2 flower to the center of the circular section of the card base, off-centering it a bit to the left, to make room for the smaller petal arrangement on the right.

I die cut smaller leaves from the Itty Bitty Fall Flowers die set and colored them to match the petals attached to the flower and glued them on the righthand side of the flower as if they were blowing off the flower. I added clear Bokeh Lights Confetti pieces over the leaves. Lastly, I stamped the “congrats” word from the Thinking of You Big Time stamp set and coordinating die set. I used Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I attached it to the card using Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white, cut down to fit. I added a 1/4″ strip of color at the bottom that was colored to match the flower.

Hello Card

This 5″ X 7″ card begins with the Autumn Splendor A2 Cover Plate Die cut from white cardstock and layered on the white card base. I die cut, colored (using the same colors listed in card one) the sunflower and added two leaves.

Next, I stamped, die cut and added the “hello” scripted word. I attached it to the card using Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white, cut down to fit.

Confetti pieces were added in a diagonal arrangement, from the upper left to the bottom right corner of the card using Bokeh Lights Confetti and aqua sequins (mix no longer available).

Friend Circular Card

For my last card, I created a circular card using the largest die from the Sweet Stacks Circles die set.

I folded my cardstock in half and ran the circle through the machine, allowing a bit of the circle to extend off the fold. By doing this, I avoided creating a separate hinge for the fold. I attached pattern paper to the front. The paper is from the Team Tie-Dye paper pad. It was perfect the perfect choice for this vibrant blossom!

The flower was created following the same steps listed in the last two cards. I attached it to the card front using Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white.

I added a little “friend” banner tag that I hand cut and stamped with a word from the Thinking of You Big Time stamp set. I attached it next to to the leaf to finish this card. The gingham envelopes you see in the photo above are also available to purchase. They fit an A2 sized card. They match the paper pad. I love them for the A2 cards!

Oh my what glorious color… all three are so pretty. I think this was a great idea to use different colors on the petals. So very creative! TFS
