Hello Bee Friends! It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with a new set of awesome products and an inspiration card to share. These cool sets are from the latest release by Honey Bee Stamps called, Perfect Day. I created this card to reflect what that day may look like at the ocean. I’m using the following products to create this 5″ X 7″ card:

Lovely Layers: Seashore Honey Cuts

Ocean Circlescape Honey Cuts

Circlescapes Shaker Frames Honey Cuts

Shoreline Scene Builder Honey Cuts

Seashells stamp set and coordinating die set

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

How to Make this Card

To make this A7-sized card, I started by ink blending the background on a 5″ X 7″ card front panel using Distress Oxide Inks in Salty Ocean and Mermaid Lagoon for the top half (sky/water) and Scattered Straw and Antique Linen for the bottom half (for the sand). I splattered water over the ink and blotted it dry to create the splotchy, imperfect background on the card front panel. Later, I added more ink at the bottom…. stay tuned!

Next I created the Ocean Circlescape design, blending on the blue and tan inks left on my blending brushes to the ocean layers at the bottom and tans on the sun half. I tried to make each strip of ocean a slightly different blue to make them show off more. It’s such a pretty design to enhance. I wanted this landscape to stand out more, so once the ink was dry, I went over the sun with Copic markers to enhance the sun beams. I used YR21, YR24 and YR27, keeping the tones more subdued and not bright. I glued the design in place on my card front panel and added the Circlescapes Shaker Frames in white to the design to make it stand out more.

Around the base of the focal point, I die cut and layered the Lovely Layers: Seashore Honey Cuts. I used Scrapbook Adhesives .25 Foam Squares in white between two layers to add more real dimension to the shells. I colored the shells using faint tones of grays, browns and pinks. TIP: My go-to colors for shells are Copic Sketch Markers in colors: R000, R00, E40, E42, E43, E44, C3, C1, W3, W1. In addition, I used those same colors to color the tall grasses and palm trees. I used some faint greens on the tree leaves, too. (YG61, YG11). Fencing from the Shoreline Scene Builder Honey Cuts was colored with E49, E44 and E43 and added to the sides of the circlescape to extend and connect the circle design out to the background. I also added two flying birds from the Shoreline set and colored them in E49.

I ink blended more darkness at the bottom of my panel to ground the design and create more contrast with the seashells above. I used distress inks in Gathered Twigs and Walnut stain then applied water to make it imperfect. Tiny dots of black and white were added to the base to look like stones and shell fragments in the sand. Lastly, I stamped and die cut the phrase using the Seashells stamp set and coordinating die set and added it to the top. I attached the card front panel to the card base to complete it.
