Hello friends! Welcome to Day 4 of the annual 12 Days of Christmas! It’s Keiko from Happy Tree Studio today sharing this winter house shaped card. Apparently, not all the gingerbread people live in a gingerbread house! This guy lives in a cute red brick house made from Honey Bee’s House Builder die set and Gingerbread House Add On. I just adore these sets so much! By adding some elements from the add on set (or even without them), or changing up the colors, you can make all sorts of houses! Here are the 3 houses I “built” so far. Fun!!

Making the house shaped card is pretty easy thanks to the well thought out die set. For this winter house, I die cut all the elements I used from various card stocks. To add the cute brick pattern, I apply dark red die ink over the new Perfect Bricks stencil on red card stock using a blending brush. However, as the ink dried, I felt the pattern was too light. As I do not have darker red ink (and also I already adhered some of the elements on top), I went over the bricks with a clear gel pen. It made the color darker and I love the subtle shine it added.

This cute little gingerbread guy is from Gingerbread House Add On set. I simply die cut the shape, inked it with brown inks, added brown and white splatters (to add cookie like texture), and then stamped the coordinating image with clear embossing ink. I applied white puff embossing powder and heat set. I also white heat embossed the swirly pattern from the same stamp set on top of the windows.

Before putting together the house, I stamped and heat embossed the sentiment on the inside panel. “Christmas Blessings” is from Christmas Blessings stamp set and the rest is from Welcome Home set. I couldn’t resist adding these cute gingerbread couple! (from Gingerbread House Add On)

Die cutting all the elements is the most time consuming part. After that, you can start building your house! TIP: Use foam tapes to adhere SOME of the elements to make the house look more dimensional.

Here are the few things I added as a final touch to this house:
Nuvo Glitter Accents in Fresh Snowfall color to mimic the snow
Gold gel pen accent to all the red flower centers
Red and gold gems (from Holiday Traditions Gem Stickers)

I love the fact that this house shaped card fits in the standard A2 envelop perfectly for easy mailing!

Thank you so much for visiting me today! Make sure to come back tomorrow for more inspirations from the designers!
