Hello Crafters!

It’s Kelly Taylor here and I’m super excited to be joining Honey Bee Stamps for the 12 Days of Christmas! All the designers have been just wonderful so far and I’m honored to be included with them.

I have been really loving the Farmhouse style of Honey Bee’s latest release. The release of the Snow Globe A2 Shaker Die pretty much guaranteed someone in my life was getting a shaker card for Christmas lol.  I decided to combine the too for a fun pretty shaker that was a bit more sophisticated than my usual ones.

I first die cute all of my pieces out of white cardstock and then set the middle frame piece aside. I used Distress Oxides to color the base layer and the topper piece for my snow globe. Once my ink blending was done I used the one of the brown Distress Oxides to stamp the Barn Wood Background stamp for the real farmhouse feel. Next I stamped all of my decor images to begin my coloring.

I copic colored all of my images before using their companion dies to trim them out. I took my time and arranged the pieces on my base layer so everything fit inside. I love the berries in this stamp set they are perfect to make a full bouquet or in my case more like a spray. I started gluing my pieces together top to bottom to make sure nothing moved. I glued my bow to my flower, my flower to my leaves, etc. Until it was one piece then I glued the entire piece down as one. Once it was placed I used my copic markers to blend in the white outline to the background giving the illusion they are one layer.

After that I just had to build the shaker. I used left over packaging as my window and trimmed it to the size of my framed die. I typically add two layers of foam tape around the edges of my shaker cards but for this one I only did one. It seemed to give plenty of room for the sequins to move and will cost less to mail. Speaking of sequins, I piled up some clear sequins in the center of my flower and then attached the frame over top. To add a “frosty” look I used a stiff bristle brush and the tiniest amount of white acrylic paint to dab around the edges. Dab your brush off several times before taking the brush to the acrylic.

Last just arrange your die cut sentiment and “decorations” on your snowglobe to finish it off. I really love the way this one came out and I hope you do too!

Thanks so much to Honey bee for inviting me! I hope you all have a blessed Christmas!
