Hi there,

It’s Kaja from Kajcyika crafts and welcome to the day 8 of the 12 days of Christmas here at Honey bee stamps blog! I am really happy to be joining Honey bee stamps at this event and I hope that you will enjoy this post as much as I enjoyed making this card!

Take a look at the card that I prepared:

I was thinking about making a typical Christmas card, but since 2020 it’s quite an unusual year, I decided to go with an unusual one and made a Christmas miss you card!

I started making this card by stamping out the images from the brand new stamp set called Woodland winter animals. I must admit that I fell in love with this set immediately when I saw it in the shop and I couldn’t wait to play with it. I stamped out the deer and both trees out in black ink and then color it in using alcohol markers. I wanted to have a settled look to my scene, so I used browns for both, the trees and the deer. Since this is Christmas card, I added accessories in the typical Christmas colors – red and green.

Once everything was colored I went ahead and added some white gel detail. This makes the coloring even more interesting and drags the eye to the images.

Next, I die cut a square from a white cardstock using Deckle edge square die set. To create even cooler scene and to add a feel of dimension, I stenciled some trees using the stencil from Outdoor scene builder set on top of the die cut piece. I made sure that I used a color of ink that corresponds to the coloring nicely, so the scene looks more finished.

Then, I took another piece of white card stock and created a simple hill for my deer to stand on. I positioned it towards the bottom of the squared piece and then glued all the stamped images on top using liquid glue and foam tape.

The only missing this was the sentiment, so I took ‘missing you’ stamp from Blah humbunny and stamped it on a piece of white paper using black ink. To have a finished look of the sentiment, I used the coordinating die that makes the sentiment even cooler.

I then popped everything up on a square card base and the card was all finished!

Thank you so much for joining me! Happy holidays!

Kaja
