Good morning, everyone! It’s Cassie here, and I’ve got a fun card to share with you. I’ve been a little into using lots of color in my cards lately, but today I’m back to using my Copics and taking a brief pause from my Distress Oxide inks! I love using Copics to color in balloons. I use two or three shades to get some dimension. Here’s a look at the card.Do you ever start a card and aren’t sure where you’re going with it? That’s how this card started. I knew I wanted to use the Smile stamp set because I haven’t had a chance to ink it up yet since I got it. I stamped the ‘smile’ in some bright pink pigment ink. I added the rest of my sentiment in a black pigment ink. Usually I would use a dye ink, but I knew I wanted to use clear embossing powder over it and the pigment ink dries slower, allowing the powder to stick to it. Once that was melted with my heat tool I moved on to stamping the balloons
I took the round balloon from the Celebration Box set and stamped it repeatedly above my sentiment. I stamped the balloon on a post-it and cut it out to use it as a mask where needed. I wanted a fun highlight for the balloon so I grabbed the cute little heart from the Welcome Baby set and stamped it where the highlight would be. I thought this was a cute touch. I colored each of the balloons in, going in rainbow order and leaving the highlight white. To add strings I grabbed my ruler and drew them in myself. On each balloon I added little loops to look like they were tied off.
To finish off the card I added a blue border around the balloons and their strings. I also added some shimmer to the balloons and Glossy Accents to the hearts. I attached it to a card base and my card was finished! I hope you enjoyed it! I know I was needing some brightness since this week has been so rainy and cloudy! Thank you so much for stopping by, and I’ll see you again soon with another card!
