Hi crafters. It’s Bobbi Lemanski here with spring wishes from a wishing well! I’m using the new Lovely Layers: Wishing Well for my card. All of the products I’m using are from the new release called, “Cottage Countryside” This Honey Bee release is packed with lots of beauties to turn paper into charming vignettes full of English touches and countryside beauty! My 5″ X 7″ card features the following Honey Bee Stamps products:

Lovely Layers: Wishing Well Honey Cuts dies

Lovely Layers: Bird Bath Honey Cuts dies

Lovely Layers: Cottage Honey Cuts dies

So Special stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies

Ginger Jar Details Stencil Set

For the basics… my project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My blender brushes (large and small) are a must for ink blending color on the background, too. For white highlights, I use my white Gelly Roll pen. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

To make this 5″ X 7″ greeting, I started by stenciling the background using the Ginger Jar Details Stencil Set. There is a beautiful floral design in the set that works perfectly for the background of my scene. I stenciled the design twice, once on the right and then cleaned my stencil and flipped it over and stenciled on the left to create a mirror image of the design. I used Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink and my blender brushes (large and small) to create the design. I added sky above, blending Tumbled Glass on the card front and grass below, using Mowed Lawn. I used my Copic Marker, B00 to add a little blue between the stenciled stems, but I was not too fussy with this since the well would cover most of the intricate design in the middle of the card. I added some color to the floral design by adding dots of Y02 and Y06 for tiny florals. I added a darker shade to each colored dot to make them a bit more dimensional. I also used my W2 marker to add stems to the clumps of floral dots.

Next, I focused on making the wishing well using the Lovely Layers: Wishing Well Honey Cuts dies. I enhanced the cuts by adding two tones of gray to the stones and metal mechanics such as the handle using Copic Sketch Markers W4, W3, W1, C3, and C1. I also used YR27 and YR24 for the cedar roof and wood frame uprights.

I wanted to integrate this well into the scene so I added foreground clumps of greenery using the foliage and florals from the Lovely Layers: Cottage Honey Cuts dies. This also gave me a space to add more color to the design with blossoms and specks of white using my white Gelly Roll pen. I enhanced the greenery / clumps using YG67, YG63 and G28 for shading around the bottom edges of the clumps and the lawn right below each clump. Using my white pen and green markers, I added dots of color to the bottom lawn section to make it look more varied and realistic. I also used the vine from the Lovely Layers: Cottage Honey Cuts dies to make the brown vining brush on the left of the well. I added more clumps of greenery to the brush for cone-shaped foliage to make it look more like vines growing over the well.

To complete the look, I added three yellow birds from the Lovely Layers: Bird Bath Honey Cuts dies set. I also splattered on some white and black paint to create more specks in the air and on the well. I added some highlight marks to the well’s roof with my white pen. A sentiment from the So Special stamps and coordinating Honey Cuts dies was my last touch to this card. Of course, I used the sentiments with the “wishing” word in it. I attached my 5″ X 7″ card front to my card base to complete the greeting. I hope you like it!
