Good morning! It’s Cassie here, and I hope you’re all having a great Saturday morning! It’s been so rainy and cold here this week that I’m just hoping for a little sunshine soon. But the rainy weather makes for a perfect excuse to get in the craft room–if you even need an excuse!
Today I’m sharing a card I made for a expecting family, or a congratulations card for a new baby. It’s soft and sweet, so let’s jump in!
I started this card by die cutting a circle for a stencil and ink blending Worn Lipstick, Dried Marigold and Scattered Hay. I love to do this to create a center and add some color to my projects. I spritzed it with shimmer spray before removing the stencil. You can’t see it really in the photos, but it’s so soft and pretty in real life. Then I stamped out the baby, pacifier, and kitten in the box from the Welcome Baby set, as well as the standing kitten from the Curious Kitties set. I colored them in with my Copics and die cut them out with the coordinating dies.
Next I stamped the box from Celebration Box onto some craft card stock with VersaMark and heat embossed it with white embossing powder. I also stamped ‘fragile’ from the Welcome Baby set on the box. I arranged the little scene over the circle and attached them to my card panel with foam tape. I grabbed the Hooray stamp set and the Welcome Words die set to make my sentiment. I stamped ‘little one’ onto some black card stock with my VersaMark and used white embossing powder over it. And I die cut the word ‘welcome’ from the die set three times and glued them together.
This is where I wished I had laid out my elements a little bit before gluing them down. I attached the welcome die before making sure I had room for ‘little one’. In the end it was fine. I just put the little one strip on top, but I wish I had looked at it first to make sure my original idea would work. I added some black and white gel pen details to finish off the card, and attached it to a card base and that was it!
I hope you enjoy the card I made for today! Thanks so much for stopping by. Have a great rest of your weekend!
