Hello friends! Today I’m sharing three dimensional gift card boxes designed for the men in your life. The new Vintage Gift Card Box is big enough to hold a gift card, a stash of money or smaller gift items. I made two using products from the new Adventure Awaits release. I’m using the following Honey Bee Stamps products:
Vintage Gift Card Box – Honey Cuts
Lovely Layers: Rod & Reel Honey Cuts
Lovely Layers Slice & Stump Honey Cuts
Fishing Legend stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies
Lucky Lures stamp set (for one of the fishes, only)
Other Previously released sets used:
Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery Honey Cut dies
Lovely Layers: Spring Greenery Honey Cuts dies
Lovely Layers: Seashore Honey Cuts dies
The featured projects below use Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for most of the stamped elements. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. The actual box elements were made from colored cardstock.
“Slice of Life” Gift Card Box
Using the Vintage Gift Card Box – Honey Cuts dies, I made a small box out of Kraft cardstock and added a faux birch belly band around it using cardstock from the Adventure Awaits Paper Pad. I fit the strip around the box, creasing at the corners and gluing it together at the bottom. I added black Hemp Cord Onyx around the belly band. Next, I die cut the elements you see on the box – leaves and red berries using the Lovely Layers: Winter Greenery Honey Cut dies and the Lovely Layers: Spring Greenery Honey Cuts dies. I also die cut the fishing pole using the Lovely Layers: Rod & Reel Honey Cuts and the wood trunk slices using the Lovely Layers Slice & Stump Honey Cuts.
I added additional color to the leaves using Distress Oxide Ink in Rustic Wilderness and Copics in YG67 and YG03. The berries were colored using Copic Markers R89, R46, R29, R27 and R22. White highlighting was also added using a white chalk crayon. I used Copics 100, W8, W3, W2, E57, E51, E44, and E43 for the wood slices. The rod was colored using the same reds and W3 gray. I attached all the elements to the top of the box to complete it. I used foam tabs between the wood slices to make the design more dimensional.
Fisherman’s Pond Gift Card Box
For this gift box, I used one of the wood slices to create a blue pond with stone/ground around it. I used various blues for the water. Next, I stamped, colored, and cut numerous fishing elements from the set, Fishing Legend stamp set and coordinating Honey Cuts dies. The large fish in the center is from the Lucky Lures stamp set. The Lucky Lures stamp set was designed to use with this vintage box. Instead of using all the art, I simply used one fish from one of the stamps. Check out all the cool boxes using this set on the Honey Bee website!
I attached all of the elements to the top of the box and then also added some “seashore” grasses to the collage of fish items. The items were attached to a box made from a darker green cardstock.
