Hello Honey Bee friends!! I love going to the beach and just love all of the beach themed items in the new Sunkissed Summer release! Today my sunset beach scene card features the Palm Beach Cover Plate with the coordinating stencils and one of the adorable houses from the Lovely Layers: Beach Houses Honey Cuts.
Did you know that the Palm Beach Cover Plate does not cut? It presses this beautiful beach scene into your cardstock. To accentuate the embossed details, I used my tan embossing mat when I passed the piece through my die cutting machine.
Then I used ink blending brushes and various inks to add color through the six Palm Beach stencils. For the ocean I used Peacock Feathers Distress Ink. The sunset is Mustard Seed, Crackling Campfire, Tumbled Glass, and Uncharted Mariner Distress inks.
When I was finished with each of the stencils in the Palm Beach stencil set, I trimmed the piece just a tiny bit. This gave me a white border of about 1/8″ showing when I glued it to my A2 card base.
Next I chose one of the beach houses in the Lovely Layers: Beach Houses set and die cut it from 80# Neenah. I also die cut the palm trees, coconuts, ladder, fish, and a few other items. I used the same inks to color all of the Beach Houses items that I used for the Palm Beach stencils .
I downloaded and printed the awesome Layering Guide that can always be found just below the product description on the website. I used this guide to easily assemble the pieces with Bee Creative glue.
I used foam dots and foam squares to adhere all of the Beach House elements to the card.
Next I stamped a sentiment from the Rest & Relaxation stamp set with black ink. Then I cut it out with the coordinating Honey Cut. I adhered it to the card with some foam strips.
I would love to have a sweet little house on the beach nestled into a grove of palm trees! How about you? Of course, I imagine that there is a back porch to sit out and enjoy all of the beautiful sunsets too!
Thank you so much for stopping by. I hope your day is awesome with lots of crafty time!

Oh Carol, your lovely card with all those gorgeous tropical colors has transported me straight to Margaritaville! My husband’s brother and sister-in-law recently retired to a beautiful little retirement town called Margaritaville in Florida, in fact, and it’s just as lush and colorful as your card. Fantastic work!
Oh goodness, Danita, you are so sweet! Thank you so much! It really makes me happy that this card reminds you of good times!
