Hi friends! My card has summertime fun written all over it! It might be mid-August, but summer goes through September for me! From seashells and palm trees to a super cute beach house and lake frontage, this card has summer vibes! It features new items from the latest, Sunkissed Summer release by Honey Bee Stamps including:

Lovely Layers: Beach Houses – Honey Cut dies

Palm Beach Cover Plate – Honey Cut dies

Palm Beach – Set of 6 Coordinating 6×6″ Stencils

Lovely Layers: Small Seashells – Honey Cut dies

Rest and Relaxation – 6×6 Stamp Set and coordinating Honey Cut dies

The featured project below is made from Neenah 80lb Solar White cardstock for the card base and card front panel. All of the black ink stamping was done using Honey Bee’s Bee Creative Intense Black Ink. I use Honey Bee Stamps Bee Creative Precision Glue and for when I want more dimension, Bee Creative Foam Dots With Tab for adhering my elements together. My card is 5″ X 7″ in size.

I used the Palm Beach Cover Plate – Honey Cut dies for the background of this beach scene. I used Distress Oxide Inks in Picked Raspberry, Mustard Seed, Carved Pumpkin, Frayed Burlap and Mermaid Lagoon. I used the coordinating stencil to color the specific areas along with blender brushes.

Since the cover plate is smaller (A2 size) then my card (A7 size) I added a faux wood board frame around it by cutting four 1/4″ strips of white cardstock and coloring them to look like woodgrain using Copics in E57, E55, E43 and E53. Little dots of Pearl Pen in an aged brass color were added to the corners to look like nail heads.

I enhanced the stenciled background by adding shadows using Copic Markers in similar color (but darker than the distress oxide inks) and then a white pen to add highlights on the coconuts, rocks, sand and the water waves. I also added a few enhancements to the beach hut (door heart, hinges) with my white pen, too.

I die cut the pieces to make the beach hut, palm trees (2) and seashells (3) and assembled them. All of the layered elements were added to the scene using Bee Creative Glue or foam dots. I used various colors of cardstock for the beach hut and trees. The seashells were cut from white cardstock and colored using R01, E11, E53, E50 and E43 colors.

I attached the assembled trees and beach hut. I stamped, die cut and attached the sentiment in the bottom left corner and added a few seashells to the outside of the frame to complete the front.
