Happy Saturday, everyone! It’s Cassie here, and I hope you’re all having a great weekend and getting in lots of crafty time. I know I will be! Today I have a fun card to share with you. It’s a cute watercolor and heat embossed combo that would work in so many color combinations. Let’s get started!
I saw Kristina Werner do something very similar to this and I knew I had to give it a try. I started by cutting down a piece of watercolor paper and wetting one of the shorter ends. I saturated that so that it was easier to rip and give it a jagged edge. Next I took out my watercolors and started creating an ombre over the whole surface of the water color panel. I used water to dilute the color so that it was more concentrated towards the bottom and lighter towards the top. It took a few layers to get the look I was going for. This is such a forgiving technique because you can add water to fix any imperfections.
Next, I stamped and die cut the ‘throw kindness around like it’s confetti’ sentiment from the Beautiful Life stamp set. I used a gold embossing powder. It’s so difficult to capture, but it’s so pretty in real life! The next thing I did was make sure my water color panel was completely dry before I started the next heat embossing step. I took the two sweet little hearts from the same set and embossed it with white embossing powder. This tied together the white outline that the sentiment has.
The final touch was to heat emboss the little scatters of confetti in the same gold embossing powder as the sentiment. These little confetti clusters are so adorable! I can completely see using them with so many cards!
That’s it for my card today. I hope you enjoyed my take on this style card! Let’s all take the opportunity to spread a little kindness 🙂 Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you again soon with another card!
